UP's upcoming assembly elections will be fought under Priyanka's leadership: Ajay Kumar Lallu

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Kumar Lallu on Sunday said that Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will be the face of the party in the 2022 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and this election will be fought under her leadership. Lallu said that the Congress will not form an alliance with any political party but will form alliances with the public, democracy, youth, farmers, poor, Dalits and the underprivileged.

Lallu said that Uttar Pradesh is Priyanka's land. She belongs here. Priyanka and her family love the land of Uttar Pradesh and the crores of people of the state. She lives in the heart of crores of people of the state. Undoubtedly, under his leadership, the party will contest the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. We are sure that under the leadership of Priyanka, the people will give their blessings to the Congress. He said that there is a feeling of Uttar Pradesh that we should form a government under the supervision of Priyanka. Lallu rejected the claim of BJP leaders that Priyanka is a Twitter leader.

He said that Uttar Pradesh government is afraid of Priyanka. Despite being detained by the state government, she came out on the streets and fought for the tribals of Sonbhadra. The way she is isolating the government on every issue, the government is scared and trapped. Responding to a question, Lallu said that the Congress is continuously raising issues affecting the people of the state directly and indirectly. We are constantly strengthening our voice. Congress is becoming the voice of the public on various issues. He said that Congress has been out of power in Uttar Pradesh since 1989 and since then the development of the state has come down drastically.

He said that Uttar Pradesh was known for industries, small scale industries and sugar mills during the Congress rule, but now a large number of sugar mills are being closed. The traditional industries of the districts are in poor condition, be it the glass industry of Firozabad, the locks of Aligarh, the leather industry of Kanpur, the brass of Moradabad or the carpet of Bhadohi. The situation of the weavers of the state is also very bad. He said that Congress will try to make "developed UP, prosperous UP" when in power.

Asked about the "one district one product" program of the state government, Lallu said that this is just an excuse. The state government is organizing investor conference, but not a single project was implemented at the ground level. On the question whether the leadership of the Uttar Pradesh Congress is empty or lack of workers, Lallu said that the Congress workers have struggled on the road on many issues related to the public including petrol, diesel price hike. The Congress is now becoming the voice of the Dalits, the backwards, the deprived.
