The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh (CM Yogi Adityanath) has launched a new scheme to provide relief to the outstanding electricity bills of farmers and common people (UPPCLs OTS scheme). UP Power Corporation has implemented OTS (Lump Sum Solution Scheme) for domestic and tube well consumers from today on March 1. The benefit of this scheme can be availed only for 15 days. Under this scheme, 1 crore people of UP will be directly benefited. Those who have outstanding electricity bill and are surcharge on it will have to submit only 30% bill. After this, their surcharge will be waived.
Power Corporation's OTS (Lump Sum Solution Scheme) will run till 15 March 2021. About one crore consumers of the state can avail 100 percent surcharge waiver under the scheme. UP's Energy Minister Shrikant Sharma said on Sunday that domestic (LMV-1) and private tube wells (LMV-5) consumers of both rural and urban areas are going to benefit directly under the scheme. You have to register for this from March 1, 2021 to March 15, 2021. For registration, the consumer will have to deposit 30 percent of the outstanding bills on 31 January 2021 and the monthly bills after 31 January.
1 crore people will get direct benefit
According to the data of Power Corporation, 1 crore people of the state are going to benefit directly from this scheme. There are about 2.50 crore domestic consumers and 12 lakh tube well connections in UP. In this, electricity bill more than 10 thousand rupees is outstanding on about 90 lakh consumers. Apart from this, bill of crores of rupees are also outstanding on 10 lakh tube well connections.
How will you get benefit?
Surcharge on the dues of the consumer till 31 January 2021 will be abolished on depositing all the original outstanding money and the current monthly bill by 31 March 2021. The consumer can register himself in all Executive Engineer and SDO offices, CSC. These registrations can also be done by logging on to www.upenergy.in online. All these bill payments will be done online.
