All the BJP candidates for the biennial election of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council will file their nomination papers in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday. The party gave this information in a statement on Sunday.
Party candidates include state BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma. Monday is the last day for filing nominations for the 12 seats of the Legislative Council.
The scrutiny of nomination papers will be on January 19 and the last date for withdrawal of names is January 21. The voting will take place on January 28 and the counting of votes will take place one hour after the completion of voting.
Membership of 12 MLC members will end
Membership of 12 MLC members will end on January 30. At the same time, the Legislative Council elections will be held on January 28 and the result will also come on the same day. BJP is yet to field 6 candidates.
If you look at the strength of the BJP, then 10 out of 12 seats will be easily won by the BJP. At the same time, a seat of the Samajwadi Party is also guaranteed. But the Samajwadi Party has made the election exciting by taking out two candidates. Although the BSP has not opened the cards yet, the Congress does not have any MLA to support anyone.
