Varun Gandhi runs an anti-mother Maneka campaign in Sultanpur

May 23, Sultanpur (UP): Varun Gandhi, the BJP politician and the current Member of Parliament for Pilibhit, traveled to Sultanpur on Thursday to support his mother, Maneka Gandhi, who is running for the seat.

At a rally, Varun Gandhi said, “Elections are going on everywhere in the country… but there is only one region in the country where people don’t call their MP, sansad ji, mantri ji, or by her name, but call her mata ji, and that is Sultanpur.”

Varun Gandhi has not spoken at a rally before during this election season.

Since the BJP removed Varun Gandhi and selected Jitin Prasada to represent the Pilibhit seat in the Lok Sabha election, Varun Gandhi has avoided public life. In the first round of the elections, Pilibhit cast his ballot.

Varun Gandhi, a former Sultanpur MP, switched seats with his mother in 2019 and gained a landslide majority in Pilibhit, while Maneka Gandhi became victorious from Sultanpur.

“I have come to Sultanpur to campaign solely for my mother,” Varun Gandhi said. Sultanpur is now also my homeland, even though up until now I thought of Sultanpur as my fatherland because of my father, Sanjay Gandhi.

“There is no animosity against the alliance candidate or the candidates of other parties. In difficult times, Varun Gandhi will be there for everyone equally.”

Varun Gandhi did not mention the names of the central leadership or BJP officials throughout his speech. He also provided the folks on stage with his cellphone number.

“It is a matter of great joy for me that when the name Sultanpur is taken in the country, that name is taken in the mainstream,” he said.

The sixth round of campaigning will conclude on Thursday night.

Maneka Gandhi will compete against BSP leader Udraj Varma and SP leader Ram Bhual Nishad.
