Yogi administration's strict action against leader Shrikant Tyagi for abusing Noida woman in viral video, vehicles confiscated
Uttar Pradesh Police has started strict action against a petty local leader Shrikant Tyagi, who was seen abusing and misbehaving with a woman in posh society in a viral video in Noida. While a case was registered against Tyagi based on the video yesterday, he is now said to be absconding. Police are searching for him. As part of punitive action, the police reached his residence today and confiscated his cars.
Tyagi's three luxury cars have been seized by the Noida Police and one of his cars reportedly has MLA written on it, even though he is not an MLA. Tyagi himself and his family are absconding while four of his associates have been taken into custody for questioning. The accused Shrikant Tyagi claimed to be a member of the Kisan Morcha of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). BJP's Noida unit chief Manoj Gupta said Tyagi was not associated with the party.
The entire incident took place recently at the Grand Omaxe Society located in Sector-93B, Noida. Tyagi wanted to plant saplings here, but the woman opposed it citing a violation of rules. The leader, however, claimed that it was his right to do so. Several videos of the incident have gone viral on social media, in one of which Tyagi is purportedly seen using abusive words and assaulting the woman. The leader also made derogatory remarks about the woman's husband, allegedly using abusive language.
