Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council Chairman Ramesh Yadav and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday inaugurated the beautification works of the Legislative Council and inaugurated the picture gallery as well as unveiling the plaque of the current members of the council. Addressing the event organized on the occasion, Chief Minister Adityanath said that Uttar Pradesh is the largest state in the country and Uttar Pradesh Legislature is the largest legislature in the country with the largest number of members. He said that the history of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council is very glorious. He said, "The Legislature is the temple of democracy and the center of faith. The work done for beautification in this upper house of the state is commendable.
The Chief Minister said that this Legislative Council has been associated with Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, former Chief Minister Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant, former Chief Minister Dr. Sampurnanand, Sir Tej Bahadur Sapru, eminent poetess Mahadevi Verma. The first meeting of the Legislative Council was held at Thorn Hill Memorial Hall, Prayagraj. He said that everyone will get inspiration from Chitra Vithika in the Legislative Council. Regarding Savarkar, Adityanath said, "Savarkar ji's personality is very important for every Indian. Savarkar was a freedom fighter as well as a great philosopher, writer, poet. ''
Yogi said that special programs will be organized by the state government during the centenary year of Chauri Chaura from February 4, 2021 to February 4, 2022. Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna, Legislative Council Member and Bharatiya Janata Party President Swatantradev Singh and other members were present on the occasion.
