Archaeological scientists found a piece of cheese 2600 years old in excavation! People liked it even centuries ago
Today our living style and eating style is like, how many centuries it has taken to reach here. Sometimes if you think about 20-30 years ago, you will know that our test has also changed a lot. However, there is no denying the fact that things were still the same, but the way they were made and processed was different. For example, the cheese that we eat with great fervor today was present even centuries ago, the evidence of this has also been found by archaeologists.
Archaeologists have found a piece of cheese in an ancient tomb built in the Saqqara necropolis of Egypt. This piece was in an earthen pot and is being told 26 thousand years old from today. This thing was called Halloumi at that time and it was stored in molds in earthen pots.
The taste of cheese is being taken for centuries
The cheese or piece of cheese found by archaeologists is white cheese and was present in an ancient dome about 2600 years old. According to the reports, along with this, some molds have also been found in the dome, in which the cheese was kept. Some analyzes suggest that cheese making was started in the 26th to 27th dynasty i.e. from 688 to 525 BC. It was called halomi, which was prepared from goat, sheep, and sometimes even cow's milk. It can be grilled and fried. It was known as a meat substitute. Told the Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Archeology that it was used by the Egyptians as a harem, which was later called Halom and then Halomu cheese.
Cheese has been found before
It is not that the 2600-year-old cheese found in Saqqara is the oldest cheese in the world. Earlier in the year 2018, researchers had found a piece of white cheese inside the Ptahmes dome. It was about 3000 years old. This piece of cheese was found in a broken jar. It was completely covered in cloth and solid. When it was investigated, it was a cheese made from cow's and goat's milk.
