The incident took place on Friday-Saturday night near village Bodarli under Shahpur police station, about 21 km from Burhanpur district headquarters. Deputy Inspector General of Police of Khargone Range Tilak Singh said on Sunday, "The 40-year-old wife and 12-year-old daughter were taken hostage by the head of an armed six miscreant family who came to the ballast crusher plant in secluded forest area on Friday-Saturday night. Took them to a banana farm and gang-raped the mother-daughter. ''
He said that the crooks have also taken away the cash and mobile from the family. Singh said that after the incident, all the accused escaped from the scene. He said that teams have been formed to nab the accused. These teams have been sent to several places in Buldhana and Jalgaon districts of Maharashtra adjoining the incident. He said that there is a possibility of these miscreants fleeing towards Maharashtra.
Singh said that the victim's family is from Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh and has been living here for a long time. Shahpur police station in-charge Sanjay Pathak said that a case under sections 376-D (gang rape), 347, 363 and other related sections as well as the POCSO Act has been registered against six unidentified accused in this regard on Saturday. . He said that a detailed investigation into the case was going on.
