Ride operator risks life to rescue child on carnival ride that launches into the air

On social media, a spooky video of a ride gone bad has gone viral. On Sunday in Groves, Texas, at the 54th Groves Pecan Festival, the event took place. The ride’s operator was shown in the viral video hanging precariously close to 30 feet above the earth.

According to accounts, the ride’s operator was helping Juliana Bernal, a 12-year-old girl, board the carnival ride vehicle when a sudden burst of wind caused it to rise into the air. The ride operator managed to keep Juliana inside while holding onto the door and keeping it closed, rescuing the youngster. Eventually, other staff members utilized their knowledge to lower the ride, saving Juliana and the attraction’s operator.

People at the event were surprised by the startling occurrence. Caress Muraira, the mother of Juliana, spoke about the horrible incident with KMBT-TV.

“At first, it moved slowly, and he was attempting to stop it; her door wasn’t shut. So I began to panic. He simply kind of soared up with the door as he was closing it. Please hold on, my daughter was saying to him while she was up there. Don’t fall,'” Muraira said.

The operator put his life in danger to rescue Juliana, and Muraira was very appreciative to him. She said that Juliana had informed her that during the terrifying occurrence, the operator’s fingertips had become bloodied.

Since 1969, the Groves Chamber of Commerce has organized the Groves Pecan Festival, which takes place each year around pecan harvest.
