People in Etah, Uttar Pradesh, went through a similar situation when a Swedish lady traveled over 6,000 kilometers to wed the love of her life.

According to report, Christen Liebert traveled to India to wed Pawan Kumar, whom she met via Facebook, in accordance with Hindu traditions, at a school in Etah on Friday.

In 2012, the pair met on Facebook and continued to speak via phone and video. Over time, their friendship developed into love. According to reports, Christen and Pawan met in Agra a year ago. They made the decision to be married after seeing the Taj Mahal together.

Christen seemed to be dressed in traditional Indian clothing and jewelry in photos released by ANI. According to rumors, the lady and Pawan met on Facebook 10 years ago. She placed the garland around her husband's neck and participated in the varmala rite.

In a statement, Christen stated that she loves India and that the marriage has made her extremely happy.

Kumar is an engineer at a company and has a B Tech from a university in Dehradun. Geetam Singh, his father, said they would be content if the kids were happy. Geetam was cited by ANI as saying, "We wholeheartedly support this marriage."
