VIRAL

This famous child had a hit debut, six failures, had to sell his Ferrari and bungalow, today he owns only three plates and trims his own hair

Few performers have a movie office debut so good that it opens doors for many projects in a matter of months. With Imran Khan, the famous actor Aamir Khan’s nephew, that is precisely what happened. Imran made his screen debut in the popular romantic comedy Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. He went on to have some success with a few subsequent movies. However, his career did not turn out as he had hoped.

How Imran Khan sold his Ferrari and mansion due to changes in his profession

In the Abbas Tyrewala-directed and Aamir-produced film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na (2008), Imran costarred alongside Genelia D’Souza. With the film’s Rs 84 crore in earnings, Imran shot to fame overnight. However, the media labeled him a “one-film wonder” after the box office failure of his next two movies. Subsequently, he had a string of somewhat successful romantic comedies, such as Delhi Belly, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, and I Hate Luv Storys. However, after 2012, Imran delivered four consecutive bombs, beginning with Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola and ending with Katti Batti, which was supposed to be his last movie.

Imran spoke about the challenging period and how he had to sell his Ferrari in order to save money in a recent interview with Vogue India. He also relocated into an apartment after selling his Pali Hill house. Imran, who follows a minimalist lifestyle, claimed to have only three frying pans, three plates, two coffee cups, and three forks in his kitchen at the moment. The actor also said that, since 2016, he has been cutting his own hair.

Imran Khan’s return

Now that he has been gone from movies for over ten years, Imran is eager to return. It all started with an online meme in which he made a jest about returning if a certain amount of likes were received by one of his social media postings. In a couple of days, that amount was attained, providing Imran the assurance to consider coming back. The actor says he is excited about this new role and that he has learned from the errors he made throughout his initial acting career.
