Watch: This Funny Safety Demonstration by a Flight Attendant Is Too Good to Miss

The internet is captivated by a video of a flight attendant demonstrating safety procedures while using humorous motions and exaggerated facial expressions. As he delivers crucial safety instructions on fastening seatbelts and using oxygen masks in an emergency, the flight attendant keeps the passengers’ attention. A well-known Instagram account called @funniestviralvidz uploaded an undated video of the flight attendant’s remarkable display. Over a lakh people have liked this video. Michael McAdam, a flight attendant with the Canadian airline Westjet, is shown in the video. In addition, McAdam is a published writer whose works include several comic books.

“It’s great to have a little bit of humor, keeps our attention, and reminds us of what we need to do all at the same time,” one Instagram user said on McAdam’s film. An excellent example of finishing a task with a hint of humor.” He was also called “Jim Carey of air plane attendants” by someone else. “Imagine taking a flight and dreading the ordeal only to see this guy bet that changes everything,” someone commented. An Instagram user said, “If I’m going on a plane flying over 500 mph, I don’t want a comedian for a flight attendant,” in contrast to the other viewpoint.

When YouTube user Bryan Cuerrier uploaded a video of McAdam’s amusing safety institutions on the platform in 2011, the film quickly became popular. Over 13 lakh people watched this video.

Numerous videos of McAdam’s humorous safety advice have gone viral over the years. McAdam said in a 2023 interview with First Comic News that he had retired from Westjet. In addition, the 54-year-old founded Two Gargoyles Comics, a self-published comic book company with its headquarters in Alberta, Canada.

He has authored many comic books throughout the years. Among his works are the supernatural noir detective tale Twilight Detective Agency and the small-town horror novel Gloaming. In addition, he has written two theatrical plays that are murder mysteries: My Big Fat Geek Wedding and Death of a Cellsman.

Speaking to First Comic News on the sources of inspiration for his comic book characters, McAdam said, “I’ve always enjoyed tales of optimism. Superheroes, in my opinion, are about conquering hardship, giving others hope, and defending others. They try, fail, and then succeed on their second attempt. They made themselves available as models of what any of us is capable of becoming, given enough belief. Yes, sometimes the superhuman antics are absurd—after all, if you can fly, why do you need to wear a cape? When you can lift a vehicle over your head, why dress up like a clown? I wanted my art to playfully recognize how much fun and ludicrous it was all. You can’t produce honestly if you can’t laugh at yourself.”
