Bihar Journalist Murder: Police Detain 4 Suspects, Continues to Pursue the Other 2

In connection with the murder of a journalist in Bihar on Saturday, the police detained four persons. The Araria district of the state is where the arrests were made. Two other suspects in the case are still being sought for.

Yesterday, there was a murder of a journalist in the Raniganj Bazaar neighborhood. Nitish Kumar, the chief minister, referred to it as a dukhad (sad) occurrence. He had given the go-ahead for authorities to look into the incident right now. “How can a journalist be killed like this,” he had said.

Journalist Vimal Kumar Yadav, 35, was assassinated in Bihar while working for a Hindi newspaper. He was murdered in his Premnagar village home. The Bihar Police said that the attackers knocked on Yadav’s house’s gates about 5.30 am and started shooting as soon as he opened them. Upon getting the news, the district police head and the SHO of Raniganj, the affected police station, hurried to the scene, where Yadav passed away immediately.

“The post-mortem investigation of the corpse has been submitted. There is an inquiry going on. The dog squad and forensic specialists have been contacted. The deceased was allegedly engaged in a long-standing disagreement with a neighbor. All potential avenues are being investigated, according to a senior police officer mentioned by the PTI in its report.

Government Criticized by Opposition: The opposition attacked the administration, saying that the episode proved “Bihar’s democracy is in danger.”

According to state BJP president Samrat Choudhary, “Criminals are roaming free while innocent citizens, including journalists and even police personnel, are being killed in Bihar.”

“What occurred in Araria is sad in fact. But since the ‘ghamandia’ (arrogant) Mahagathbandhan headed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad established the administration in the state, such events have become the norm, according to the BJP politician whose party previously shared power in the state.

Chirag Paswan, a former leader of the Lok Janshakti Party and current member of the BJP-led NDA, stated: “Nitish Kumar and his friends constantly yelling that Bihar’s democracy is being attacked. However, they are unable to defend the fourth estate.

Paswan added in reference to the recent murder of a police officer in Samastipur, “The average Bihari gave up all aspirations from Nitish Kumar long ago. But not even the press and the police are safe from his regime.
