Voting en masse in the eight LS seats of Bihar

With 23.67% of voters casting ballots in the first four hours of Saturday’s election, voting was beginning to take place in Bihar’s eight Lok Sabha seats.

Valmiki Nagar, Paschim Champaran, Purvi Champaran, Sheohar, Vaishali, Gopalganj (SC Reserved), Siwan, and Maharajganj are among the places where voting is now taking place.

Up until 11 a.m., Vaishali registered a maximum of 27.98% of voters. It was 25.50 percent in the Lok Sabha election of 2019.

In the Sheohar Lok Sabha seat, 25.77 percent of votes were cast; in 2019, that number dropped to 21.20 percent.

While Paschim Champaran received 21.80 percent of the vote in the 2019 Lok Sabha election, the party received 23.84 percent.

The Election Commission said that 23.57 percent of voters turned out in Maharajganj, compared to 18.30 percent in 2019.

Voting in Purvi Champaran was 23.10 percent, down from 22.50 percent in 2019.

In Gopalganj, 22.61 percent of voters cast ballots till 11 a.m.; in the last general election, 20.60 percent of voters cast ballots for this seat.

The Election Commission reports that 22.42% of voters cast ballots in Siwan, compared to 21% in 2019.

The only constituency where voting till 11 a.m. recorded a lower percentage (20.11%) than it did in 2019 (21.50%) is Valmikinagar.

Among the first votes were well-known contenders like Sanjay Jaiswal, Hina Shahab, and Radha Mohan Singh.

Hina Shahab, the late Bahubali leader Mohammad Shahabuddin’s wife, is running as an independent from Siwan in this election.

The other candidates for Siwan are Awadh Bihari Choudhary of RJD and Vijaylaxmi Kushwaha of JD (U).

“I want to appeal to voters to vote for the candidates who live here and are available for you round the clock,” Hina Shahab said as she spoke with the media. I would want to urge the residents of Siwan to support an independent candidate this time around, since they have already seen the candidates of many political parties.

Radha Mohan Singh of the BJP voted for Motihari in Purvi Champaran. He is running as the BJP’s candidate against VIP’s Vijay Kushwaha for this seat.

“After PM Narendra Modi’s appeal, a significant number of people are casting ballots at voting places despite the heat. I thank the voters for their participation. In order to strengthen the nation under PM Narendra Modi’s direction, a sizable number of people would cast ballots, according to Singh.

The candidate for the BJP, Sanjay Jaiswal, cast his ballot in Bettiah as well. After the poll, he said, “The people of the country believe that the NDA will cross 400 seats in this Lok Sabha election.”

“Abki Baar 400 Paar” is more than simply a catchphrase. The people believe that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the formation of the next central administration. His reappointment as prime minister is desired by many. People recall the Center’s many activities, which include providing free LPG gas, five kg of free foodgrains, roads, restrooms, and power to every home, according to Jaiswal.
