Amit Shah rejects talks with Pakistan over Kashmir and calls the repeal of Article 370 a historic decision

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the repeal of Article 370 was a “epoch-making decision” and that discussions on Kashmir will instead be undertaken with young people in the Valley rather than Pakistan.

Narendra Modi, according to Shah, has made a “epoch-making decision” to bring about change in Kashmir.

Article 370 was a miscalculation on the part of the Jawaharlal Nehru administration. On August 5 and 6, 2019, this Parliament abrogated it. With that, Kashmir was free of two flags and two constitutions, and PM Modi made sure it was fully included into the nation, according to Shah.

Shah said that the young of the valley were our own and that discussions with them would focus on Kashmir rather than Pakistan.

“Recently, a Congress-inspired NGO convened a conference and issued a report recommending that the Centre undertake negotiations with the Hurriyat, Jamiat, and Pakistan. We won’t communicate with Pakistan, Jamiat, or the Hurriyat. If we have talks, they will be with the Valley’s young. We shall speak to them because they are our own,” he said.

Additionally, he said that the Centre had put limits on the Hurriyat and the Jamaat-e-Islami in Kashmir and fired those who supported terrorism.

He claimed that burial processions for terrorists in Kashmir are no longer held.

According to Shah, the Lakhanpur toll levy in Kashmir, which was “a thorn in the hearts of crores of BJP workers” and was where party ideologue Syama Prasad Mookerjee had been detained in 1953, has been eliminated.

He said that the Dalits, tribals, and members of the underclasses now had reservations in Kashmir thanks to the BJP’s Modi-led administration.

Regarding Kashmir, Shah also made fun of Muftis, Abdullahs, and Gandhis.

He also praised the Modi administration for holding panchayat elections in Kashmir.

According to Shah, Kashmir’s tourist industry has benefited from the repeal of Article 370, and new theaters have been opened.
