Beginning on April 1, Kia India will be raising prices on popular models by up to 3 percent

Kia India, a well-known automaker best recognized for its high-end automobiles, has announced that all of its mass models—including well-liked vehicles like the Seltos, Sonet, and Carens—will see price increases of up to 3 percent beginning on April 1, 2024.

The decision was made in reaction to the growing prices of inputs and commodities in the supply chain. According to the press release, this is the company’s first pricing modification of this type for the year.

“At Kia, we consistently strive to deliver premium and technologically advanced products to our esteemed customers,” said Mr. Hardeep Singh Brar, National Head of Sales and Marketing at Kia India, in response to the price change. However, we are forced to impose partial price increases owing to the ongoing rise in commodity prices, the unfavorable exchange rate, and the increasing cost of inputs. A large amount of the increase is being absorbed by the business, enabling consumers to keep driving their preferred Kia vehicles without suffering financial hardship.

Kia has sold almost 1.16 million vehicles to date, making it a major participant in both the Indian and international markets. The Seltos is the best-selling model in its portfolio, having sold over 613,000 units, followed by the Sonet (over 395,000 units) and the Carens (around 159,000 units).

According to TOI, Kia India reported selling 20,200 units overall last month across its entire lineup. With 9,102 units sold, the Sonet emerged as the best-seller, followed by the Seltos (6,265) and the Carens (4,832 units).
