Discover more about K Krithivasan, TCS’s new visionary CEO, and learn important information

K Krithivasan was previously named as the next CEO-designate of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the biggest IT services provider in India, with effect from March 16. Rajesh Gopinathan’s resignation from the position of MD and CEO “to pursue other interests” led to his appointment. A Coimbatore Institute of Technology and IIT Kanpur graduate, Krithivasan became the sixth CEO of TCS on June 1 in the company’s more than five-decade-long existence.

K Krithivasan was formerly stationed in Chennai, but for the last several months, he has been working out of the TCS guest house in Mumbai. He will soon begin looking for a new home since his family is moving. He is a voracious reader who has recently started enrolling in a rigorous Sanskrit course, according to Moneycontrol.

He will be one of the most senior leaders in the organization to be named CEO at the age of 58. Prior to this, he oversaw the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) Business Group at TCS, which accounts for around 35% of the business’s sales.

The following are important details regarding K Krithivasan:

K. Krithivasan: Who Is He?

At Tata Consultancy Services, K Krithivasan has served as president and worldwide head of the business group for banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI).

K Krithivasa has spent more than 34 years working in the global technology industry. In 1989, he started working for Tata Consultancy Services. He has held several leadership positions over his lengthy career at TCS in the areas of delivery, customer relationship management, big program management, and sales.

K Krithivasa also serves on the boards of TCS Iberoamerica, TCS Ireland, and the TCS Technology Solutions AG supervisory board.

K Krithivasa has master’s degrees in industrial and management engineering from IIT Kanpur and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Madras.

K Krithivasa assumes leadership at a time when the IT sector’s development is slowing down as a result of uncertainty and caution in important markets including the US and Europe.

K Krithivasa has worked at TCS for over 33 years, but has kept a quiet profile. Those who have worked with him describe him as a diligent, results-oriented leader who is also friendly and pleasant. He oversaw a sizable BFSI portfolio worth $11 billion, according to a recent note from Kotak Institutional Equities, Moneycontrol said.

Rajesh Gopinathan, the company’s CEO for more than six years with more than four years remaining in his second five-year tenure, chose to leave his position on September 15 according to an unexpected statement made by the USD 25 billion software behemoth in March of this year.

While Gopinathan will stay on until September 15 to help with the transition and support for his successor, the corporation has chosen Krithivasan as the CEO designate.

Gopinathan, 52, said that this was his first resignation and that he hadn’t created a CV since his days on the university’s campus. He joined Tata Industries from there 27 years ago and TCS 22 years ago. After September 15, he kept his intentions a secret.
