Future Toyota EV to Have 1200 Km Range on Single Charge, 10 Min Charge Time

Toyota, a major player in the Japanese automobile industry, is developing an electric vehicle (EV) with a solid-state battery that would have a range of about 1,200 kilometers (750 miles) and need just 10 minutes to charge.

Tesla Superchargers operated by Elon Musk provide a charge for 200 miles in 15 minutes.

According to the company’s new technological roadmap unveiled on Tuesday, it also intends to add a high-performance lithium-ion battery to its next-generation EVs by 2026.

Toyota’s automobiles will be able to charge batteries more quickly and have a range of around 1,000 km (620 miles).

Toyota said, “On the vehicle axis, we will attain a vehicle cruising range of 1,000 km with technologies such as the integration of next-generation batteries and acoustic technology.

The longest-distance EV range on a single charge was achieved by Mercedes-Benz’s long-range “Vision EQXX” concept vehicle, which was presented last year. It could go over 1,000 km on a fully charged battery.

The company claims that the trip from Germany to the south of France began in chilly and wet circumstances and was made at typical road speeds, including extended fast-lane travelling at up to 140 kmph.

The car company aims to sell 50% of its plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles globally by 2025, with the goal of being all electric by 2030.
