The Apple iPhone 15 Series may not debut this year in September; here’s why

With the release of the iPhone 15 series in 2023, the Cupertino-based tech giant Apple—famous for releasing new iPhones typically in September every year—may see a delay. A new report states that the iPhone 15 series devices may not be available until October as opposed to September.

Apple’s iPhone 15 handsets may be delayed by a “few weeks,” according to Wamsi Mohan, a global securities analyst at Bank of America. However, Mohan did not provide a justification for the delay.

According to reports, Apple’s sales in the September quarter may be impacted by the launch delay of the iPhone 15 series. Additionally, owing to problems with the screen production process, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are anticipated to have a limited supply at launch in September.

According to MacRumors, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will have smaller bezels than the iPhone 14 Pro models, and it is this change that is causing problems. The Information claims that LG Display screens are having issues because Apple suppliers are employing a new display production technique to reduce the amount of the bezel.

When Apple increased the display size of the Apple Watch Series 7 in 2019, the company ran into a similar issue, and the product was delayed by nearly a month. During the process of fusing the display to the metal casing, the LG screens are failing reliability testing. Apple is making adjustments to the LG display’s design so that it will pass testing, and it still has Samsung screens that it can assemble together.

The Information said that Apple will not postpone the release of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. This is in contrast to the Bank of America story. However, there won’t be as many units accessible at first, which might cause shortages. The iPhone 15 Pro Max will be the most difficult model to buy upon introduction because of the production difficulties.
