This month, YouTube will launch its first-ever shopping channel in South Korea. Report

The most popular video streaming service in the world, YouTube, is getting ready to launch its live commerce shopping channel in South Korea on June 30. The firm will get a live commerce platform from YouTube and hopes to deliver livestream shopping content with 30 companies at the launch. The Google-owned video streaming service will launch an official retail channel for the first time ever.

By adding a new commerce link to its Explore section, the firm has already made its intentions apparent. The article claims that artists are free to tag objects in their live broadcasts and to link to any kind of goods for viewers to buy.

According to the firm, “YouTube is committed to creating an engaging, educational, and enjoyable shopping experience for all users, including those in Korea.” To that end, a YouTube representative told Yonhap News Agency, “As we continue to work hard to optimise and deliver the best experience for our users.”

The article claims that the site is transforming as a consequence of its falling ad income. In an attempt to support more artists, Google’s parent company, Alphabet, will also focus on making YouTube more shoppable, which will eventually lead to additional content, viewers, and advertising possibilities.

In terms of facts and data, YouTube reported $6.69 billion in ad revenue for the most recent quarter, a decrease from $6.87 billion for the same quarter in 2017. The report did, however, also make notice of the company’s increasing watch time and rise in shorts.
