What to Expect When Tata Tiago and Tigor CNG Are Hinted to Have Automatic Gearboxes

Leading automaker in India, Tata Motors, has announced that it would launch the Tata Tiago CNG AMT and Tata Tigor CNG AMT, the nation’s first CNG AMT vehicles. The Indian carmaker hinted at the impending release of these CNG AMT versions and offered us a sneak view of them on social media.

Currently, the petrol powerplant and CNG versions of the Tata Tiago and Tata Tigor are available for purchase. These models are already more appealing since they come with CNG choices, and the Tata Tiago and Tata Tigor CNG variants will become much more appealing when AMT is added in the near future. This will be a significant development for the Indian passenger car industry, since there hasn’t been much use of CNG and automatic gearbox technology together because of the belief that they would not mesh well.

There are no specifics about the future CNG AMT versions of the Tata Tiago and Tata Tigor in the teaser that Tata Motors published. These versions are probably going to have the same specs as the current CNG manual vehicles since the engine should stay the same. Furthermore, the Tata Tiago and Tata Tigor’s adoption of CNG AMT may pave the way for the Tata Altroz CNG to follow suit.

In recent years, Tata Motors’ sales in the Indian passenger car market have increased significantly thanks in large part to the success of the Tiago and Tigor models. Prices for the seven available Tata Tiago CNG versions range from Rs 6.55 lakh to Rs 8.10 lakh (ex-showroom). In a similar vein, the Tata Tigor CNG is available in four different configurations, with ex-showroom costs ranging from Rs 7.80 lakh to Rs 8.95 lakh.
