Why Is It Important That The Apple iPhone 15 Series Offers An 80% Charging Limit And Battery Health Stats?

The 15-series Apple iPhones are now on sale in India via a variety of online and offline sources. Additionally, they have a number of features that elevate them beyond the iPhone 14 series. One such function is tucked away in settings and allows users to see information about the health of their batteries and limit charging to 80%.

Several individuals responded to the question by posting a screenshot of the new iPhones’ user interface on X (previously known as Twitter). This is distinct from Optimized Battery Charging, which postpones battery charging beyond 80%, according to MacRumors. However, once the new function is activated, charging will stop at 80%.

Users of the iPhone 15 may discover the new option in the battery menu under Settings. The ‘Health & Charging’ sub-menu’s ‘Charging Optimization’ section has it. Users have three options: 80% Limit, Optimised Battery Charging, and None.

By preventing an iPhone from charging fully, the new option may aid in improving the battery’s health. Additionally, Apple is now providing additional battery statistics in the settings’ About section.

For a better understanding of the battery’s condition, the battery information contains the date of manufacture, the date of first usage, and the number of cycle counts it has performed. Users will be able to determine when the battery in their iPhone needs to be changed with its assistance.

Apple claims that under average circumstances, a battery may maintain up to 80% of its capacity after 500 charging cycles. Readers should also be aware that this is not the first time the tech giant aims to provide information on the upcoming iPhones’ batteries. A maximum charging capacity option is already available in the company’s settings. Although the new capabilities are a part of iOS 17, the firm has not said if they will be compatible with earlier iPhone models.
