A ‘Very Clean’ Diet from Chris Hemsworth’s Personal Chef

Chris Hemsworth’s personal chef Sergio Perera has detailed how the actor changes his diet to fit the needs of each film he works on.

Perera told news.com.au: “Obviously the guy is a big boy, requires a lot of protein for the body he has.”

The chef, who has competed on the television program “MasterChef Australia” , said, “When it comes to building muscle, he just keeps it very clean with a lot of barbecuing – like meats and vegetables – and keeping it Mediterranean, which involves a lot of olive oil.”

According to Perera, Hemsworth always eats a “hearty salad” instead of a “boxed or canned” snack, according to aceshowbiz.com.

The chef recalled: “One thing I did religiously with him, was every single day he would have one very large, hearty salad that consisted of raw and cooked vegetables, fermented products, nuts, seeds, and a lot of good fats with a piece of steak or a big piece of fish.”

The ‘Extraction’ actor’s wife Elsa Pataky approached Perera because she thought Chris needed help adjusting to the physical rigors of his Hollywood job. Chris and Perera have been working together for more than ten years.

The cook explained: “He had just seen the first ‘Thor’ movie, and he needed some assistance in matching his diet plan to his physical needs. And that’s how I joined the team. I would sit with Chris’s trainer, who is also one of his closest friends, and we would discuss his objectives.

Perera loved working with the actor so much that he even relocated to Australia, where Hemsworth was born. He stated: “I went there thinking I was only going to be there for a few months, but I ended up staying.”
