After 13 years, Salman Khan’s Sher Khan will return to the stage in 2025, according to Sohail Khan | Exclusive

The announcement of the jungle adventure movie Sher Khan, starring Salman Khan and Kapil Sharma, took place more than ten years ago in 2012. Salman will play a lion-hearted He-Man in what was promised to be a VFX-heavy action spectacular. If rumors about the film’s extended postponement were to be true, they would have to do with visual effects. Sohail Khan, who has previously helmed Salman in Auzaar, Pyaar Kiya toh Darna Kya, Hello Brother, and Jai Ho, was set to produce and direct it.

However, it seems that Sohail will bring the idea back to life. He recently talked exclusively to News18 Showsha about his plans to return to the grandiose world of Hindi cinema with Sher Khan at a Celebrity Cricket League season 10 promotional event. He further said that he intends to bring the film to theaters in 2025.

When asked why he had to shelve the movie back then, he said, “That’s one area where technology is growing by bounds—VFX.” I used to feel out of date with what I had written and how I wanted the action to be when we would complete writing the screenplay for Sher Khan and see another Marvel movie. I anticipated that the movie would seem antiquated by the time it was released.

With time, Sohail was able to decipher the formula for making fantasy action adventures and Hollywood superhero movies that connected with audiences and performed very well at the box office. I had to conquer my phobia of considering to create something that would be released in three years. I came to the realization that I needed to focus on the future rather than the present. That’s precisely where the DC and Marvel movies shine,” he said.

The actor from Tubelight and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya went on, “They foresee what would happen. There is a gap when we use technology because our actions are more human. While the rest of the world continues on, we consider the present. He continued by saying that he will be starting up work on his long-awaited romantic comedy, My Punjabi Nikah, which was supposed to feature Aayush Sharma. This year, he plans to resume production on the film.

In response to a question about what prevented him from directing and performing in movies during the last several years, Sohail said rather openly, “That was my intent.” I was becoming dissatisfied with the acting job I was receiving. I went out there to find the right technicians or actors to cast the narrative I wanted to present.

The 53-year-old found that waiting was preferable than settling for mediocrity. “I gave things a lot of consideration, and I wanted the right individuals to gather together. Unfortunately, there was a lack of coherence. Fortunately, however, financial luck has been on my side. As a result, there was no need to merely work on anything. I just bided my time,” he said.
