Anurag Basu Finally Speaks Out About The Controversial ‘Super Dancer 3’ Clip: I Am The Father Of Two Children, I Will Not Defend This

A previous episode of “Super Dancer 3” that included a participant being questioned about his parents in a “inappropriate” manner recently went viral. Netizens began berating the judges for their ‘vulgar’ questions when the video started making the rounds on social media. The producers of the dancing reality program received a notification from the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) for showing ‘inappropriate material’ in one of the episodes during 2018–19.

The show’s judges were director Anurag Basu, actress Shilpa Shetty, and choreographer Geeta Kapur. NCPCR asked that the station provide an explanation and that the video be taken down from all platforms.

Anurag refused to defend the video when questioned about it by Times of India since he too is a father of two children and realizes how humiliating it was for the parents.

Super Dancer is a kids’ dancing reality program, and youngsters often say harmless things, Basu continued. We spend hours filming with them, and they say so many things that are sometimes beyond of anyone’s control. I acknowledge that I made a mistake by directing the discussion toward the contestant’s remarks that made his parents uncomfortable.

A boundary should be set, according to the “Ludo” director, when it comes to questioning candidates. Additionally, he stressed the need for caution while engaging with kids since they often say inappropriate things inadvertently. The tape in issue, in his opinion, might have been modified, but he had no influence over it.

“As judges, it is crucial that we carry out this duty and use caution while formulating our inquiries. I believe the students will be careful while speaking after this (the viral footage). It is crucial that such things never occur. This is just what I think. I’m not commenting on behalf of the channel here; I’m speaking as a judge for a reality program. I thought it was my duty to set the record straight since I am aware that this footage has gained widespread attention, he said.
