Barbie’s arched feet were perfected by Margot Robbie after eight attempts

‘Barbie’s’ official trailer opens with a now-famous scene of Margot Robbie removing her high-heeled shoes to show her still-arched bare feet. It took the Hollywood star eight tries to get the pose.

The picture required eight takes, according to a recent Time magazine cover story on the development of “Barbie.” In order to keep her feet flexible, (Margot Robbie) had to grab onto a bar, according to ‘Variety’.

“I really don’t like it when someone else does my hands or feet in an insert shot,” she complains.

Additionally, Robbie said to Time that she would have rejected “Barbie” if Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach’s screenplay had not included a variety of Barbie characters.

Barbie is also portrayed by Issa Rae, Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Mackey, Hari Nef, Dua Lipa, and other performers in the Warner Bros. blockbuster, according to ‘Variety’.

“I don’t think I would have wanted to try to make a Barbie film if (Mattel) hadn’t made that change to have a multiplicity of Barbies,” Robbie added.

“I don’t think you should say, ‘This is the one version of what Barbie is, and that’s what women should aspire to be, look like, and act like.'”

Robbie recently revealed to Vogue that she also courted Gal Gadot to play a Barbie in the film because she believes the Wonder Woman actress epitomises “Barbie energy.”

What does Barbie energy truly mean?

Gal Gadot is like Barbie energy, remarked Robbie.

“Gal Gadot is so very attractive, yet despite how stunning she is, you can’t help but love her for it because she’s so truly honest and kind that it almost seems silly. Like just before becoming a nerd.

Robbie has to consider issues of eroticism and attractiveness when portraying the lead Barbie role. After all, Barbie is a toy for kids.

‘Okay, she’s a doll,’ I think. She is an artificial doll. She is devoid of organs. She lacks reproductive organs if she has any organs at all. ‘Would she even experience sexual desire if she doesn’t possess reproductive organs?’ No, I don’t believe she could,” said Robbie.

She’s been sexualized. She shouldn’t be sexualized however. People can imagine her having sex. She may be able to wear a short skirt, but only if it’s colourful and pink. not so that you could see her behind.

Warner Bros.’ “Barbie” debuts in theatres nationwide on July 21.
