Dolly Parton claims that quitting would be preferable than dying on stage

Dolly Parton, 77, an icon of country music, has said that she would rather die playing than retire.

“I never would retire. One day, I’ll probably pass away onstage in the midst of a song. Maybe one I’ve written. But that’s how I want to go,” the ‘Jolene’ singer stated during a segment on Greatest Hits Radio.

We don’t really have much of a choice in that, of course. However, as long as I’m able to work, as long as my spouse and I are both in excellent health. In fact, it would be the only reason I would ever stop or slow down. I’m going to make hay while the sun shines in the meanwhile, she stated, according to ‘The Hollywood Reporter’.

Since ‘Hello, I’m Dolly’, her first album, was released in 1967, Parton has gone on to release 65 studio albums, making her a musical icon.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member added that she wants to make sure she doesn’t let anything go to waste since she has been fortunate enough to have so many dreams come true during her musical career.

“I always think that you have to be responsible because you have to keep the dream alive if you’ve wanted your dreams to come true and you are fortunate enough to have that happen,” she added.

“And each dream kind of gives rise to another dream. Almost everything that occurs may be expanded upon and turned into a company. It thus resembles a tree with strong roots since it has several limbs and leaves. Why not take advantage of it?

On November 17, the Grammy-winning musician’s first rock album will be made available.

The rock album, named “Rockstar,” which was announced last year, turned out to be a combination of original songs and covers of artists such as Prince, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and others.
