The Patriotic Theme of “Jaan Da” from the Kangana Ranaut-Starrer “Tejas”

After the lavish display of the “Tejas” trailer, the producers of the Kangana Ranaut-starring film have now intensified the anticipation with the film’s opening song, “Jaan Da.”

The song combines elements of rock music with pop, electronic, and cinematic music to produce a very nationalistic piece.

Arijit Singh’s singing never dissapoints due to his voice, which is not only passionate but also strong and soulful. Arijit’s voice is well complemented by Sashwat Sachdev’s arrangement, which further elevates it, and Kumar’s words, which are exquisite.

The usage of acoustic guitars, distorted electric guitars to drive in the rock punch, and some synthesisers for an electronic flavor makes up the extremely well-done accompaniment. The song combines Punjabi pop, rock, and Bollywood music artistically.

However, the production of “Jaan Da” stands in stark contrast to the spectacle of the movie since, in contrast to many other productions, the mix is relatively muted and subdued.

There is some tinkering with the samples, making it less evident than it should be. As a result, while the sound design is obvious, it lacks impact. However, it’s possible that this was the creators’ intention all along.

The song “Jaan Da” is the ideal homage to commemorate the love for the country while also invoking the emotion of patriotism, while the teaser increased the anticipation for seeing the movie. Additionally, the music video significantly enhances the entire plot of the movie by showcasing both Kangana’s character’s army and human sides.

This only serves to emphasize the sense of pride, passion, excitement, and spirit that the film seeks to evoke. The HAL LCA Tejas, an indigenous light combat aircraft built in India, is often shown beside the actress who is portraying fighter pilot Tejas Gill.

Kangana Ranaut plays the title character in the Sarvesh Mewara-directed and -written film “Tejas,” which is also produced by Ronnie Screwvala. On October 27, 2023, the movie is slated for theater release.
