In a dramatic turn of events, Poonam Pandey and her husband Sam Bombay are now involved in a court case because they are being sued for defamation, which could cost them an astounding Rs 100 crore.Mumbai resident Faizan Ansari has filed the case with the Kanpur Police Commissioner.
Ansari has accused Poonam Pandey and Sam Bombay in the FIR of arranging a ‘false conspiracy of death’ and demeaning severe diseases like cancer in order to get fame for themselves. He said that the couple’s conduct damaged the Bollywood fraternity’s credibility in addition to betraying the confidence of millions of Indians.

“Poonam Pandey and her spouse Sameer Bombay have concocted an untrue murderous plot. They have also made a huge joke out of illnesses like cancer. The FIR states, “Poonam Pandey has played with the trust of millions of Indians and the entire Bollywood industry, orchestrating all this drama for her publicity.”

In addition, the FIR urged the Kanpur Police Commissioner to issue arrest warrants and guarantee Poonam Pandey and Sam Bombay’s attendance in Kanpur Court to answer to accusations of defamation. It further requested that they be taken to court immediately.
Poonam has before come under fire from the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA). The group demanded in a statement that she file a formal complaint. Politicians, medical professionals, and celebrities all criticized Poonam for disseminating false rumors about her death. According to Poonam’s management, the actress passed away from cervical cancer on February 2.
