From Air Hostess to Hairstylist, Pervin Dastur of Maine Pyar Kiya Fame

Recall the 1989 movie Maine Pyar Kiya starring Salman Khan? Salman and Bhagyashree’s on-screen chemistry is still well-remembered. Not to mention Pervin Dastur, who portrayed Seema in the film. The actress became quite well-known for playing a stylishly evil persona. What about this previous Salman co-star, though?

Despite having a minor part in Maine Pyar Kiya, Pervin Dastur’s performance stood out to everyone. Even when compared to Bhagyashree’s appearance in the movie, her short, curly hair and fashionable clothes made her stand apart. Indelible memories were created in the hearts of the audience by Pervin’s depiction of Seema. Seema played the sister of Mohnish Behl in the film and desired to wed Prem Chaudhary (Salman).

Pervin also starred in the 1997 film Dil Ke Jharoke Main, which sadly had a poor box office performance, after the movie’s commercial success. She ultimately made the decision to stop acting. She said that she subsequently switched to become a hairdresser in an interview with ETimes. She said that the lack of significant parts at the time was the reason she stopped performing.

“I was getting offers with not much to do,” Pervin Dastur remarked. I also dabbled in theater and worked as an air hostess for 15 years. However, hairstyling has always been my passion, so I decided to further my education in New York. I’ve been a hairdresser for the last 25 years, and I now have a little setup.

The actress said in a different interview that she never imagined Salman would go on to become a celebrity. “I didn’t, no. No, I didn’t. I didn’t anticipate the movie becoming a big smash. We hadn’t given it any consideration. We just collaborated, enjoyed ourselves, and had a nice time, she said.

Later, theatrical performer Shahrukh Sirus Irani and Pervin Dastur were married; the two currently have two children. Working with a number of well-known celebs, she has established herself as a respected hairdresser.
