If a “exceptional idea” comes to him, Christopher Nolan is willing to make a horror movie

Christopher Nolan enjoys experimenting with different genres, and he would love to do a horror movie if he came up with a very good concept. The filmmaker’s next flick, “Oppenheimer,” is generating a lot of excitement. It is the front-runner for both best picture and best director at this year’s Oscars.

Reports state that Nolan seems receptive to the notion of directing a horror picture when asked about it at a panel discussion hosted by the British picture Institute in London.

“‘Oppenheimer’ has elements of horror in it definitely, as I think is appropriate to the subject matter,” Nolan said.
“I find that horror films are very captivating due to their reliance on intricate cinematic techniques. Since it’s really about a visceral reaction to things, I’d want to do a horror movie at some time. However, I believe a really outstanding concept is necessary for a truly great horror movie. And they are hard to come by. Thus, I haven’t discovered a narrative that suits that,” the director said.

J Robert Oppenheimer, a theoretical physicist, is the subject of Christopher Nolan’s biopic “Oppenheimer,” which features Cillian Murphy in the lead role.
The movie is one of the most successful in the British director’s career, which is filled with high-profile blockbusters, such as the “Batman” trilogy, “Prestige,” “Inception,” “Interstellar,” and “Dunkirk.” It has made over USD 950 million at the global box office.
