In the Cheque Bounce Case, actor-producer Bandla Ganesh was given a one-year jail sentence
According to a report by India Today, Telugu film producer, actor, and Congress politician Bandla Ganesh was found guilty of check bounce and given a one-year jail term along with a Rs 95 lakh fine. In relation to the check bounce case, the district court in Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, sentenced Bandla to prison and ordered him to pay all legal expenses.
The matter started in 2019 when Bandla Ganesh offered Jetti Venkateshwarlu a postdated check for Rs 95 lakh, which he had borrowed from him. Jetti is a native of Guntur’s Muppalla village. However, the victim filed a lawsuit against the actor-producer when the check bounced owing to inadequate cash.
After a protracted legal struggle, the Ongole court rendered its decision on Wednesday. But, it decided against Bandla, granting him a month to submit an appeal and specifying that he would not be taken into custody right away.
Bandla has not yet released a comment, but he posted a mysterious message on social media about X. “The truth is always the last place you look,” it said. Many were taken aback by the producer and actor’s message during their legal issues; one person even inquired, “You didn’t go to jail yet?” Another remarked, “I hope you come out soon, were you given a mobile in jail?” Another may interpret it as, “Jail lo neeku mobile ichara anna.. thondaraga bayatiki vachey anna.”
Bandla Ganesh was embroiled in controversy over a similar occurrence previously in 2017. The court in Erramanzil condemned him to six months in prison and fined him Rs 15.86 lakh. The penalty was meted out when writer-director Vakkantham Vamsi filed a complaint back then, claiming that Bandla had handed him the check to work on Jr. NTR’s movie Temper, which had flopped because there wasn’t enough money.
Bandla Ganesh has a reputation for demonstrating his abilities as a character actor. In addition, he established himself as a producer by providing financial backing for movies like as Pawan Kalyan’s Gabbar Singh and Allu Arjun’s Iddarammayilatho.
