Nicolas Hoult is in talks to play Lex Luthor in “Superman: Legacy”

Nicolas Hoult, star of “The Great,” will supposedly play Superman’s worst enemy in James Gunn’s next film “Superman: Legacy.”

Should the contract be completed, Hoult will be joining Rachel Brosnahan and David Corenswet, who were recently revealed to be playing Superman/Clark Kent and Lois Lane, respectively, in the DC Comics remake.

Hoult was one of the performers supposedly in the running for the title role, according to the entertainment website Variety.

After the actors’ strike ended, Gunn also revealed that Maria Gabriela de Faria had been hired as the Engineer, another villain.

The casts of “Superman: Legacy” also includes Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific), Nathan Fillion (Green Lantern), Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl), and Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho).

July 11, 2025 is when the movie is supposed to be released.
