Squid Game, a web series from Netflix, became one of the most watched Korean programs in the world and received several international accolades. Additionally renewed for a second season, “Squid Game” will debut on Netflix in 2024. Prior to the premiere of “Squid Game Season 2,” Netflix revealed a game show based on the same games used in the web series. The competition, which is comparable to “Squid Game,” will have 456 competitors and require them to contend for a $4.56 million cash prize.

At the 74th Emmy Awards, Lee Jung-Jae won the category for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series, while Hwang Dong-hyuk received Outstanding Director for a Drama Series. By being the first Asian actor to win Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series at the Emmy Awards in 2022, Lee Jung-Jae made history. At the 2022 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, Lee You-mi also took home the prize for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series.
