Shah Rukh Khan on Being “Age-Honest” in Dunki: “I Am 58 Now And Feel I Should Do Age-Centric Roles”

New Delhi: Dunki, Shah Rukh Khan’s most recent movie, is a box office success. Under the direction of Rajkumar Hirani, the film presents Hardy (SRK) in both his youthful and middle-aged personas. In Dunki, “King Khan” spoke about adopting “age-centric roles” and acting in accordance with his age.

At fifty-eight years old, he said, “I feel that I should take age-centric roles,” acknowledging that he was becoming older. And naturally, I’d give it my all if given the chance to be in a movie. Jawan zada advertisement, which was excessively commercial, had an over-the-top, in-your-face persona that I won’t refer to as a caricature. However, yeh bahut real hai [it’s really genuine] in this movie. Isn’t dunki pretty real? [In Dunki, it is really genuine.] Additionally, SRK said, “I think this is the first time I have ever been age honest in Dunki. It’s closer to my actual age.”

“Additionally, Dunki mein ek soldier ka, ki ye ek promise hai, ek vaada hai, ek choti si baat hai. To vohi is a film with a fascinating quality, in my opinion, to ek voyage hai. Like a tale, ki vo jo voyage hai vo ek span krti hai time. [There’s a lot of realism in Dunki. There’s also a little item in Dunki; it’s a soldier’s pledge or commitment. It’s a trip, then, and that’s what I find so fascinating about this movie. Speaking about his movie, Shah Rukh Khan said, “The journey spans across time, so it’s like a saga.”

At the box office, SRK’s Dunki and Prabhas’ Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire fought. Dunki kept up its box office pace on Salaar’s opening day, taking in ₹ 20.5 crore (in all languages), according to a Sacnilk report. Within two days of its release, the film, which revolves on a group of friends who want to travel, has brought in ₹ 49.7 crore domestically.
