According to Vidya Balan, she has a lengthy history with Shilpa Shetty and Malaika Arora, two more performers from Bollywood. Malaika was her neighbour in the Chembur neighbourhood where she spent her formative years, even though Shilpa was her senior at school. 
Vidya Balan was born and raised in Chembur, Mumbai, and is a Tamilian who is originally from Kerala. In 2012, she wed Siddharth Roy Kapur, a film producer, and afterwards relocated to Bandra.
Vidya learned to dribble from Shilpa.
Shilpa was my senior by, I believe, three years, Vidya said in an interview with the YouTube channel CurlyTales. She was gorgeous at all times. She played basketball as well. My mother once determined that I should play basketball, as I recall. I was sent off to play basketball at 6 a.m. And there were rumours that Shilpa would start acting in films and other such things. And I recall how nice she was. She showed me how to dribble the ball, and I’ll never forget that. I then reflected, “Now that I’ve learned everything there is,” “Abhi toh mujhe aa gaya sab kuchh.” I said, “Maine seekh liya,” to my mother. It is kal se nahi jeena. I’ve learned everything, Subah uth ke nahi jana hai. I don’t have to get up and try again in the morning.
Malaika was a “hottie” as well.
“Malaika Arora was another. She attended a different college. But I do recall that she would cross my lane at a certain hour to go to her French lessons. At that moment, all the males would be outside waiting for Malaika to pass. There are too many attractive people from only Chembur. What to do,” Vidya said in the same interview (laughing).

Neeyat, the newest movie directed by Anu Menon and starring Vidya, is a murder mystery. The two previously worked together on the biography of math prodigy Shakuntala Devi. Neeyat witnesses Vidya pretending to be a detective and solving a high-profile crime at a remote estate in the manner of Agatha Christie. The movie debuted on July 7 to little over 1 crore in box office revenue.
