Renowned for her many roles on “The Kapil Sharma Show,” Sumona Chakravarti has taken a stunning turn in her career by returning to Kathak after a twenty-five-year hiatus. Sumona highlights the age-old proverb that it’s never too late to follow one’s aspirations or rekindle old hobbies by sharing her inspirational experience.

I was preoccupied with fitting in and settling down in school, college, and eventually in my work. What is not visible to the naked eye. In December 2023, I made the decision to restart Kathak from scratch after about 25 years, if not longer. from the beginning. Back to basics. Almost two and a half months later, my instructor Milli Miss had me put on my ghungroo today. It’s among the most exquisite sounds ever heard. It is never too late to begin or resume any endeavor you choose. One’s age is never a barrier. Naturally, my heel aches, so after class each night, I bathe my feet in warm water. However, it feels very satisfying. Not a rush. Nothing to compete with. No criticism. just carrying out your passion. This is the only time I plan to pursue this indefinitely.

She not only demonstrates perseverance via her commitment to Kathak practice, but she also emphasizes the value of welcoming fresh starts at every stage of life. For Sumona, 2023 was a memorable year as she won her first award for her role on The Kapil Sharma Show. She had noted that in her seventeen years of performing, this was her first honor. The role that Sumona played as Natasha Kapoor in the hit television series “Bade Achhe Lagte Hain” helped her get recognition.
