Sandhya Jagarlamudi has spoke openly about an event that occurred when the Chellamadi Nee Enakku title song was being filmed. She said in an interview, “We were filming the opening sequence of a series at the Kumbakonam temple in 2006. When the elephant suddenly attacked me with its trunk while I was strolling beside it, I was severely hurt. I got seven fractures in my body from the elephant’s assault. Iron rods had to be added, too. I was struck, fell to the ground unconscious, and was found by several folks and background dancers who rushed me to the hospital after saving me. One of the dancers molested me as he was taking me away by placing his hand on my chest.

She described her horrifying experience and how it made her feel like a corpse. She couldn’t figure out why he did it since he could tell she was already hurt. She continued by saying that this was the first time she had spoken about it. She didn’t even tell her mother about the event since she thought it would cause her trauma for the rest of her life.
