When Anil Kapoor applied for an audition at Inception using his fame in Bollywood: Though I didn’t receive the part, I arrived on time
Over the course of his more than four-decade career, actor Anil Kapoor, who has starred in several successful films, turned 67 on Friday. We remember how the actor had tried out for Christopher Nolan’s Inception on his birthday. Did you know that Anil attempted to exploit his Bollywood reputation to get to the audition location?
Anil had met Christopher but was not cast in the film.
Anil and Christopher Nolan had arranged to meet in Los Angeles to talk about Yusuf’s part in Inception. The GPS on Anil’s assistant’s vehicle died just before they drove off. Anil was cited by the news agency ANI in 2012 as stating, “I had barely 10 minutes… I suddenly saw an Indian cabbie… I shouted to the cab driver, “I’m Anil Kapoor, the Indian actor,” and waved at him. Please lead the way here for me.”
“I left Brittany (assistant) there,” he had further said. Despite being on time, I did not get the position. I also obtained the autograph. I wanted Nolan to autograph my Batman DVD. Dileep Rao played the part of Yusuf in the movie.

Writer and director Christopher Nolan’s science fiction action movie Inception was released in 2010. Starring in the movie with DiCaprio are Ken Watanabe, Michael Caine, Marion Cotillard, Elliot Page, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, and Tom Berenger.

Anil recently appeared with Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, and Ranbir Kapoor in the action thriller Animal. Anil played the father of Ranbir in the movie. The movie, which was directed by Sandeep Vanga Reddy, opened in theaters on December 1. It was made available in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. At the domestic box office, the movie has brought in more than ₹500 crore.
In addition, he is now working on the next aerial action thriller film Fighter, directed by Siddharth Anand. Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan are also featured in the movie. The movie Fighter will premiere in theaters on January 24, 2024.
