When Madhuri Dixit’s lips became blue during an Alaskan romantic song shoot

Wearing a lovely chiffon saree, Madhuri Dixit recalled recording a love ballad among the snow-capped hills. She painted a clear image of the difficult but enthralling event, describing how the searing cold had turned her lips blue.

One of the top actresses of the 1990s, Madhuri Dixit captivated fans with her standout roles in popular songs like “Ram Lakhan,” “Tridev,” “Hum Aapke Hain Koun,” and “Hum Saath Saath Hai,” among others.

Because of her extraordinary skill, she has a large following all around the nation. Interestingly, Madhuri started the industry tradition of dancing in front of snow-capped mountains—a technique that has now become legendary. Her admirers may not be aware of the difficulties she had while shooting in such harsh circumstances, however. Her lips would sometimes turn blue from the freezing cold, illustrating the extreme sacrifice and commitment that went into her captivating on-screen moments.
Madhuri Dixit spoke about an instance when she and Anil Kapoor were shooting a song, and she could still clearly recall her lips turning blue.In an earlier interview with Bollywood Hungama, Madhuri Dixit related a remarkable story from their time spent shooting “Pukaar” on an Alaskan glacier. She described how, during a song scene, she was dressed in a bright blue chiffon saree, whereas Anil Kapoor was dressed more casually in an overcoat and t-shirt. Madhuri spoke out about how chilly it was on the first day of filming, highlighting how miserable it was for her to not be able to record the song. When asked about singing in front of the camera in subzero temperatures, Madhuri said that their choreographer, Farah Khan, had constantly urged her to do so. She attempted to act, but her lips were too rigid from the extreme cold. “I couldn’t do it the first evening,” she said. By the time we arrived in the afternoon, we were on the glaciers and the temperature had dropped significantly. By nightfall, it was 4:30–4:30 p.m. The choreographer, Farah Khan, was shouting, “Everyone sing,” and I was responding, “I am singing,” but my lips were frozen solid.”

Recalling the event, Madhuri said that, due to the severe cold, a doctor was there. The doctor stopped the shot when she observed that her lips were becoming blue. The next day, according to Madhuri, was somewhat better, but she was limited in what she could accomplish with her chiffon saree. “There had to be someone on standby because it’s very chilly,” she said, referring to the doctor who was there. She approached me and said, “She’s getting blue lips. No, no, no.” Gather up. So that wasn’t a good first day. We began to acclimatise to the cold the next day and understood how to dress accordingly. I wasn’t able to do much since it was a chiffon saree. Nevertheless, we made an effort to keep me warm; when the shot was complete, they would send someone on standby with white chadar to come racing and wrap it around me like a little furnace.”
Madhuri Dixit has been quite busy recently, working on a variety of projects on a range of platforms. Her most recent appearances were in the OTT series “The Fame Game” and “Maja Ma.” She plays a former actress in the thriller web series “The Fame Game,” who vanishes unexpectedly. However, Dixit has a big part in the comedy-drama “Maja Ma” as well.
In addition, she is a judge on the well-liked dance reality programme “Dance Deewane.” In collaboration with other judges, Dharmesh Yelande and choreographer Tushar Kalia, Dixit offers her professional judgement and input to the competitors on the programme. There are also rumours that she will be appearing in the forthcoming horror comedy “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.”
According to reports, Dixit may be joining Vidya Balan and Kartik Aaryan in the cast. Her involvement in the movie hasn’t been formally confirmed yet, however.
