Earnings during the first week were Rs 11 crore 95 lakh. The movie brought in Rs 63 crore at the local box office, while it made Rs 83 crore globally.

The plot of Guru centers on the life of a Gujarati guy from a lowly family. He goes on to rise to prominence as one of India’s most notable business tycoons. In the movie, renowned actors like Mithun Chakraborty, R Madhavan, and Vidya Balan also played important parts. Rajiv Menon was in charge of the film’s cinematography, with music by AR Rahman.

In that year, Abhishek and Aishwarya made their romance public. After Guru’s success, the couple exchanged vows in a private ceremony at the Bachchan home in Mumbai. Aaradhya Bachchan was born to the couple in 2011.
