Why Pooja Deol, Sunny Deol’s wife, avoided the limelight

Today marks Sunny Deol’s birthday. Sunny has been enjoying the success of Gadar 2. Sincere birthday greetings have been pouring in for the actor, who is now celebrating. On this day, a previously unreleased interview in which he discussed his wife Pooja Deol’s decision to avoid the glitter and glamor of the film business came to light. Sunny Deol said in an open interview that Pooja made the decision to maintain a low profile.

Pooja wasn’t “forced to stay away from the limelight,” the actress had said in a previous interview with Deccan Chronicle from 2013. He was also questioned about if Bobby Deol’s spouse Tanya Deol, Pooja, and his mother Prakash Deol had been instructed to stay out of the spotlight. That’s not true, he said in response. My mother and my wife were not made to avoid the spotlight. My wife is a unique individual. She has always been free to choose her own path. She is free to decide whether or not to appear in public. As I already said, neither my father nor I have required the female members of our family to abide by our norms.

Around the time of the premiere of his first movie, Betab (1983), in which he starred alongside Amrita Singh, Sunny supposedly got married to Pooja. The actor, however, reportedly made the decision to conceal his marriage for “many years,” as stated in a number of online media publications. It’s interesting to note that Sunny and Amrita had a romantic relationship when Betab was being filmed. Pictures of Sunny’s allegedly secret wedding to Pooja Deol were allegedly revealed by a magazine later that year, although the actor at the time had denied having a spouse. In 1984, Sunny and Pooja were married. Rajveer Deol and Karan Deol are the couple’s two sons.

The next project Sunny will appear in is Lahore, 1947 by filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi. Only Aamir and his production company, Aamir Khan Productions, will produce the movie.
