After the JUI-F and PTI-led opposition meeting, there was no “major breakthrough.”

Islamabad, Pakistan, May 23: Maulana Fazalur Rehman, the head of Jamiat Ulema-a-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), emphasized to the media at a meeting that the unity of political parties on national problems is crucial. He emphasized the need to promote improved relations and get over resentment when hosting a delegation from Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Ayeen-e-Pakistan at his home, according to ARY News.

Despite the lack of a major breakthrough in the negotiations, all parties decided to keep talking for the sake of future strategic planning.

Maulana Fazalur Rehman said, “We welcomed the delegation with a positive message,” emphasizing the need to put up a unified face on issues pertaining to the country. “Pakistan’s parliament and constitution are becoming less respectable, and democracy is becoming less viable. In parliament, we need to speak with one voice, according to ARY News.

Omar Ayub, the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly, sent gratitude to Maulana Fazalur Rehman for the kind welcome the group received. “We had a fruitful discussion during the meeting,” he said, pleading for the opposition parties to work with PTI to defend the constitution.

Ayub bemoaned the lack of the rule of law in the nation, bringing up a recent instance in which the police raided the PTI central secretariat office in Islamabad without a warrant.

Speaking about a possible change in Pakistan’s political environment, there have been discussions of the PTI and JUI-F working together to overthrow the government.

In an attempt to heal the rift between the two parties, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and former Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser recently had a meeting. The meeting was held in private and was purportedly organized with Imran Khan, the founder of the PTI.

Asad Qaiser invited Maulana Fazlur Rehman once again to join the Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Ayeen-e-Pakistan coalition during their conversation, according to ARY News.

According to people with knowledge of the situation, both parties have already agreed on a number of ideas and tactics for launching an anti-government campaign under a new platform or combined opposition coalition.

Finding common ground between PTI and JUI-F is important, according to Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who also noted that while there are significant disagreements, communication is still necessary. He emphasized that his party welcomed the PTI delegation in line with customs, notwithstanding the stark differences.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed hope about the reconciliation process, pointing out that the PTI’s officials have suggested resolving important concerns that both parties have decided to investigate, according to ARY News.
