When Taylor Swift Turned Down the Coronation of King Charles

At the height of her musical career, Taylor Swift has amassed a loyal following and become a millionaire thanks to the Eras Tour. She did, however, turn down a number of high-profile invitations, including one from the Royal Family, due to her hectic schedule and rapidly rising renown. Many were surprised when Swift declined invites to events like Meghan Markle’s podcast and King Charles’ coronation. Although the singer hasn’t disclosed her reasons for turning down these offers, her choice to turn them down has aroused interest and rumors despite the possibility that they would have increased her fortune and notoriety.

Taylor was one of the performers who turned down the chance to take part in the coronation. The singer’s Eras Tour performance in Nashville on the day before the coronation was reportedly the cause behind her rejection, however, the exact reason was not disclosed.

The book Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Battle for Survival, written by Welsh journalist Omid Scobie, who is well-known for his coverage of the Royal family, was just published. Scobie said in the book that well-known figures who declined invites from the Royals included Adele, Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles, Adele, and Sir Elton John. According to Yahoo News, the event planners had difficulty finding entertainment for the royal wedding because of this string of rejections.

Page Six revealed in June 2023 that Taylor Swift turned down Meghan Markle’s offer to be on her podcast, Archetypes, which was subsequently canceled. Markle reportedly sent Swift a handwritten letter requesting to be a guest on the show. Swift reportedly rejected the offer without recognizing or answering Markle’s plea in spite of this attempt.

There were rumors that the two musicians would not get along, but these were dispelled when Meghan made the decision to go to Swift’s Eras Tour in Los Angeles. Meghan not only attended the event, but she also joined in on the song “You Belong with Me,” according to People magazine. While Prince Harry was in Tokyo, Japan, attending the ISPS Sports Values Summit-Special Edition, Meghan went to the event with her friend Lucy Fraser.

The first season of Meghan Markle’s podcast, which consisted of twelve episodes, ended. After this first season concluded, Meghan and Harry made the decision to break up with Spotify, the website where her podcast was aired. Three years had passed since the couple’s original $20 million contract with the streaming service was inked. Now, they have decided to break their relationship with the platform.
