Amidst the deteriorating circumstances in the Middle East, Iranian President Raisi makes an official visit to Pakistan

On Monday, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi came in Pakistan on a three-day official visit to meet with the senior leadership. This is the first time any head of state has visited Pakistan since the general elections held here on February 8.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ X account, Pakistan’s ambassador to Iran, Mudassir Tipu, and Housing Minister Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada gave the Iranian president a hearty greeting upon his arrival at the Islamabad Airport.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Iranian president is accompanied by his spouse and a high-level entourage that includes the foreign minister, other Cabinet members, and senior officials.

President Raisi is expected to visit President Asif Ali Zardari, so he has a packed itinerary while in Pakistan. Speaker of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq, Senate Chairman Yusuf Raza Gilani, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Today, PM Shehbaz Sharif will meet with Raisi.
According to the Foreign Office, he will also meet with the provincial leaders on his visits to Lahore and Karachi. Raisi is scheduled to visit Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today, and there will also be a series of delegation-level meetings between the two nations, as reported by Radio Pakistan.

The story said that the visiting dignitary will be given a guard of honor upon their arrival at the Prime Minister House. at honor of Earth Day, the Iranian president and Prime Minister Shehbaz will plant a seedling at the PM’s house, the statement added. They will also be present for the signing of memoranda of understanding for mutual cooperation in a number of disciplines.

“The two leaders will take part in a ceremony to christen Iran Avenue as a roadway in Islamabad. Along with hosting a lunch for the Iranian president and his team, the prime minister will also attend a news conference, according to Radio Pakistan.

Raisi is in Pakistan a few months after Tehran surprised Islamabad in January by launching airstrikes on suspected terrorist hideouts in the volatile province of Balochistan, shattering friendly relations between the two neighbors.
