If Pakistan bans the PTI, Imran Khan would launch a new political party, according to a report

Imran Khan, the former prime minister of Pakistan, has said that if his party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is outlawed in the nation, he would launch a new political party to run in the 2018 general elections.

According to sources, PTI head Khan said that he would launch a new political party to run in the 2018 general elections and that he will triumph.

Following widespread demonstrations on May 9, the government under Shehbaz Sharif is considering outlawing Khan’s PTI.

Following the nationwide demonstration, the government has started a crackdown on the demonstrators and PTI backers.

According to Rana Sanaullah, Pakistan’s interior minister, banning the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is the only course of action, according to Dawn.

A measure to that effect was reportedly being explored, according to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman and Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif and Defence Minister Khawaja Asif.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf would not be subject to any attempts to impose a ban, according to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Imran Khan reportedly responded by saying, “If they remove the party, then we will form a party with a new name and still win the elections.”

According to reports, he said that the national politics had “fundamentally changed” but that his base of followers “remains intact”.

Additionally, he said that the government was “still trying to break it through intimidation”.
