In April 2024, Air Canada will begin offering direct flights from Singapore to Vancouver

Air Canada is prepared to begin non-stop service on this route in April 2024, allowing travelers flying from Singapore to Canada’s Vancouver to do so on a direct trip. According to a recent announcement by Air Canada, the airlines would fly Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft four times a week.

Following Singapore Airlines’ decision to discontinue direct service between Singapore and Vancouver as of next October, the announcement was made. According to Lim Ching Kiat, executive vice president for Air Hub and Cargo Development at Changi Airport Group, with the planned service, Air Canada would visit Singapore Changi Airport again after more than three decades.

The first trip from Vancouver, flight number AC 19, will leave on April 3, while the return flight, aircraft number AC 20, will depart Singapore on April 4. The travel from Vancouver to Singapore will take 15 hours and 55 minutes, and the flight back will take 14 hours and 35 minutes.

Air Canada said that soon, travelers will be able to reserve their tickets both online and via traditional travel agents.Three customer service cabins, including Economy Class, Premium Economy Class, and Business Class with lie-flat seats, will be available on board the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. However, first-class tickets won’t be offered on these trips.

For this trip, Air Canada has already decided how much each class of tickets would cost. Economy class tickets start at $2,189, premium economy tickets cost $3,728 and business class tickets cost $7,828 for a round-trip flight. As there is a dynamic pricing mechanism in place, these rates may change depending on the number of tickets that are available.

Speaking on Air Canada’s proposal, Lim Ching Kiat noted that the Singapore Changi Airport needs a non-stop service to Canada since passenger traffic on this route has recently increased significantly and would surpass 80% of pre-Covid-19 levels in the first quarter of 2023.

Additionally, it will aid in the expansion of Vancouver International Airport into a “premier transpacific hub,” according to Mark Galardo, executive vice president of revenue and network development at Air Canada. “Singapore is a major gateway to Southeast Asia, Southern India, and Western Australia as well as a top global financial hub while being a multicultural destination with an abundance of tourism and culinary experiences,” Galardo said.
