In the face of China’s ascent, the US should revive its partnerships with friends like India: Joe Biden

In light of China’s development and its alleged “unfair economic practices” and threat to peace across the Taiwan Strait, US President Joe Biden said on Thursday that the US has renewed its engagement with its allies and countries such as Australia, Japan, and India.

81-year-old Biden said that the US wants competition with China but not confrontation in his last State of the Union Address before a joint session of the US Congress.

As he runs for reelection in November, Biden said that America is more equipped than China to prevail in the struggle of the twenty-first century.

“We are defending peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait by opposing China’s unjust economic practices. We revitalized our alliances with the Pacific, including India. South Korea, Japan, Australia, and South America “Democrat Joe Biden said.

China maintains that Taiwan should be united with the mainland, even if it means using force, and views Taiwan as its renegade province. On the other hand, Taiwan believes it is entirely different from China.

China’s military campaign against the more than 23 million people living on the self-ruled island has intensified, raising worries across the world, particularly in the US.

He claimed to have heard Republican colleagues often claim that China is advancing while America is lagging behind.

“They have it reversed. America is growing,” said Biden.

In a speech that was seen by millions of Americans, Biden said that the US had the greatest economy in the world.

“Since I took office, our GDP has increased. Additionally, our trade imbalance with China has reached its lowest level in more than ten years,” he said. “I’ve ensured that China cannot employ the most cutting-edge American technology in its armaments.” Honestly, despite his harsh remarks about China, Biden admitted that his predecessor had never considered taking such action.

In his address, the president said, “And we’re in a stronger position to win the competition for the 21st Century against China or anyone else for that matter.”

The stage is set for a rematch between Biden and Trump in the presidential elections on November 5 after Super Tuesday.

The 77-year-old US president, Joe Biden, also attacked Republican opponent and former president Donald Trump on a number of subjects, including immigration, the January 6 uprising, abortion, gun control, and Biden’s recent remarks on Russian President Vladimir Putin.
