No damage has been reported despite a magnitude 6.6 earthquake that strikes Argentina and is felt in neighboring Chile

On Sunday, a magnitude 6.6 earthquake beneath Argentina was felt in neighboring Chile, although no damage was reported by the authorities.

The US Geological Survey estimates that the earthquake happened 171 kilometers under the surface. The epicenter was 25 kilometers east-southeast of the town of Loncopue in the western Argentinean province of Neuquen.

Both the central and southern regions of neighboring Chile were affected by the earthquake. The Argentine and Chilean governments did not record any damages.
