Trump reveals his plan for choosing his vice president and mentions two people

NEW DELHI: Former US President Donald Trump spoke about the factors he found most important when selecting a vice presidential candidate, stressing the need of having a running mate who is prepared to take over as president in an emergency.

“It must be who will make a competent president. In an appearance with “Sunday Morning Futures” on Fox Business Network, Trump said, “You always have to think that.”Regarding the position, Trump said he had “a lot of good people” in mind. He called Senator Tim Scott “a real tiger” and complimented Governor Kristi Noem of South Dakota for her choice to not run against him.
While openly acknowledging that he made hiring mistakes in his prior administration, Trump rationalized his actions by drawing comparisons to other presidents, stating, “Of course, but everybody does.” Obama did. And Biden? Take a look at the individuals in charge of the Biden campaign. The distinction is that I dismiss employees. Comey was fired by me. I removed him from my life.” Speaking about his development as a political analyst since 2016, he said, “I also know individuals who I didn’t know before. I now know who is intelligent. I am aware of the idiots. I am aware of both the powerful and the weak people.”
Trump said that if he were to win reelection, he would bring back a few former Cabinet members. Though Xi Jinping had assured President Biden otherwise, he conveyed his trust in his relationship with the Chinese leader and highlighted worries about China possibly intervening in the 2024 election against him. To combat such meddling, Trump promoted election changes including same-day voting, printed ballots, voter ID, and the removal of mail-in votes.
Speaking of his plan to make amends with “anti-Trumpers,” Trump highlighted his accomplishments on domestic policy, highlighting border control, economic development, and security as crucial areas. Despite their tumultuous past, he made hints that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) may support him.
Regarding the Republican National Committee’s financial difficulties, Trump also made remarks, implying that adjustments—such as maybe removing Ronna McDaniel as chairwoman—might be required. Reiterating his innocence against all claims, he dismissed his legal issues, seeing the indictments against him as a badge of pride for defending his followers.
As part of his attack on the present government, Trump blamed Biden for the recent attack in Jordan by an Iranian proxy that resulted in the deaths of three US troops, saying that he would not have allowed such a tragedy to happen. He said that in an effort to increase his appeal to voters, he is thinking of doing rallies in the Bronx and maybe at Madison Square Garden.
